Presto Restoration was contracted to restore and waterproof the B’nai B’rith Apartments, a two-tower HUD facility that houses senior citizens, persons with impaired mobility and those who are visually and/or hearing impaired.
The caulking on both buildings was failing and allowing water to penetrate around the window and door perimeters as well as under the window AC units and returns. The buildings also had damaged bricks, cracks in the concrete, exposed rebar, brick and mortar joints that needed repointing, and also some areas that needed to be painted. The project contained some access challenges and the technicians were only allowed to perform work at certain hours due to the nature of the building’s occupants.
The buildings were in need of some TLC and that’s exactly what the Presto Restoration team delivered. The technicians were able to caulk and repair the damaged bricks, repair all cracks in the concrete and exposed rebar, repoint the brick and mortar joints, restore, waterproof and paint both towers.
Presto was able to maneuver the access challenges and complete all necessary work with minimal disturbance to the building’s residents. With both projects completed, the B’nai B’rith Apartments are fully protected from external elements, and by following the Presto Restoration maintenance program, the building won’t require restoration again.
